Queen Elizabeth II dies at 96 after 7 decades of ruling

Queen Elizabeth II has died at the age of 96 after ruling for over 70 years. A crowd gathered the Bamoral castle, mourning the loss of the Queen.

Social media has also been shaken by the loss.

“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow,” the royal family said in a statement posted on its official Twitter account.

The king said in a statement

“We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”

She officially became Queen in 1952, she ruled the United kingdom and 14 other commonwealth realms.
