APC PRIMARY: Abuja reaches gridlock

Abuja motorists and commuters had a tough time getting to their destinations as major roads leading to the Eagle Square in the Three Arms zone of the Federal Capital Territory were shut.

The FCT Police Command had on Monday announced the diversion of traffic from major roads in the zone which hosts the Federal Secretariat, National Assembly, Aso Rock, and several government institutions and establishments.

The diversion led to gridlock along other roads like the Goodluck Jonathan Way by the court of Appeal point, ECOWAS, National Mosque, NITEL junction, Phase 3, NNPC Towers, NASS Junction and Gana by Transcorp.

A motorist, John Onwe, said the development had emotionally and financially drained him and many other residents of the state.
