The Edo Flood, Erosion Watershed Management Agency (EdoFEWMA) has been established to continue the mandate of the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project in ensuring that flood, erosion and other environmental impact of projects are properly managed in the coming years in Edo.

Governor Godwin Obaseki commended the NEWMAP for their efforts to help restore livelihood and give hope to families in areas affected by environmental hazards in the State.

“We are sending out a note to Federal agencies, NDDC, we will not allow them to work in Edo if they don’t share their plans with us, particularly, erosion control plans because they are giving us more trouble for our environment than benefits.” Gov. Obaseki added.
