During the sixth edition of the annual Ramadan lecture of Iba LCDA, the Chief Imam of Oto Awori, Sheikh Muhammad Taofeek Harun Arogundade who was one of the guest lecturers chastised Nigeria leaders, politicians for mismanaging the national resources and short changing common man while they live comfortable life full of affluence.

The lecturer said this at the Annual Ramadan Lecture organized by Iba LCDA under the leadership of Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril as the Council Mayor on Wednesday, 12th April 2022 at the Council premises.

He further uttered that Nigeria politics isn’t played in an healthy manner.” Nigeria politics is a kind of politics where an average politician will be seeking for the down fall of others for him to grow. We need to desist from politics of “pull him down” and of putting square pegs in round hole” he said.

Also, he revealed that out of selfishness the politicians prefer hindering the best people from holding public offices and if such is not discontinued it will end up in destruction, particularly as we are now revel in relegating competence for mediocrity in the interest of sentiments.

The second guest lecturer of the program, Sheikh Uthman Saanu Shehu , backed Sheikh Taofeek that there are lots of countries Nigeria helped but are now doing better than Nigeria in Africa/World because of the greediness of the leaders.

Saanu Shehu also admonished the masses from always demanding money from Candidates before general election which made if difficult for them to serve the people well when they eventually get power and he concluded by warning those that played godfatherism role in respect of national cakes in return as one of the major problems Nigerians are facing.
