Own up to your responsibility before selling, Niger Delta Students tell Shell NG

Due to the recent occurrence that brought about the sales of Shell NG, Shell Nigeria Gas Ltd. is a fully owned Shell company that was founded in 1998 to distribute gas to Nigerian industries and a global group of energy and petrochemicals companies. Shell Petrol Improvement Organization is the administrator of the NNPC/SPDC/All out Energies/NAOC Joint venture and supplies onshore and shallow water oil and gas to the domestic and export market from its activities in the Niger Delta.

We at NIGER DELTA STUDENTS UNION GOVERNMENT urge the Federal government to halt the sales process until the organization meets up to her obligations of clearing our polluted environment and outstanding services / entitlement to the people of the Niger Delta.

While we are not protesting their sales decision, it’s pertinent for them to have cleared all outstanding issues before embarking on such a process and not passing on pending issues for the new owner to inherit.

The National President of Niger Delta Students Union Government, Comr. Idowu Ayemobuwa (P.K.A) HERO urges the FG to stop the process until all issues connected with liabilities or neglected responsibilities are cleared, most particularly issues of environmental pollution and degradation in the Niger Delta region, including legal disputes and the involvement of relevant community stakeholders to screen and monitor the ownership transfer process.
