INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT: IBA LCDA CHAIRMAN COMMISSIONED THE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED 537 METERS INTERLOCKED ROAD AT IFELODUN STREET, OKE-AFA, KEMBERI TOWN

There was serious momentous excitement on Friday 8th, December 2023 for residents and business owners in Kemberi town and environs as the Executive Chairman, Iba LCDA commissioned the newly constructed interlocked road network of Ifelodun linking Oke-Afa, Kemberi town from Seriki-Cassidy axis of Iba LCDA Lagos State.

These strategic roads were in deplorable state with a lot of complaints by the business community with perennial flooding and inadequate capacity for seamless vehicular movement. The Newly constructed road covers 537 Meters, 2 Long Culvert for Canals and 1,074 Meters Drainages.

The Commissioning features all critical stakeholders of the Local Government, ranging from the; Executive Chairman, Executive Cabinet Members, Legislators, Management Staff, Political Leaders, Royal Fathers, CDC and CDAs Leaders, Representatives of Market Men and Women, Ethnic Groups and Party Faithfuls.

The road, which formed a ring right in the heart of the highly commercialized area of Okokomaiko, Oke-Afa, Ifelodun and Kemberi Town, which comprise discharge traffic through Seriki-Metunbi CDA, Alukagun CDA and Ifelodun CDA into the Okokomaiko/Kemberi Town.

The Council Mayor said the road constructed will boost economic activities as well as improve security of lives and properties by reducing travel time for security patrol and emergency, While, he also described the state of the roads as “highly deplorable” before the construction, stressing that some persons lost their means of livelihood because of the poor state of the roads, but, now, they can come back and do their business with bountiful profits.
“Residents can now heave a sigh of relief and businesses that have suffered can now come back to life” — Hon. Yisa Abiola Jubril (ABILA) stated.

He reeled out his completed and ongoing projects, to mention few;
✅ Construction of Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Okokomaiko (100 percent completed, waiting for commissioning),

✅ Construction of Borehole at Cassidy Bustop, Okokomaiko (90 percent completed, to be commissioned soon),

✅ Completion of Olanrewaju/Ajibola Street, Okokomaiko (87 percent completed, to be commissioned soon),

✅ Construction of a Culvert at Oduduwa Street, Adoff Bustop, Iba (91 percent completed, to be commissioned soon),

✅ Construction of Road (Interlocking) at Gospel Avenue, Isashi (100 percent completed, waiting for commissioning),

✅ Construction of a twin drainage at the end of Seriki street, Kemberi (Ongoing),

✅ Construction of a twin drainage (1,200 metres) at Eleda Street, Off Challenge Road, Iba New Site (Ongoing),

✅ Construction of a twin drainage and culverts at Ashiawu Apeke street Off Task Force Road, Okokomaiko (Newly flagged off for construction few days ago).

While, also speaking at the event, Hon. Sule Tolani Akeebu, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Lagos State, before he commissioned the Road, stated that, the road constructed is a topnotch standard for the modern features, it is a promise fulfilled and it clearly demonstrated the audacious reforms in critical sectors of the economy, in line with the T.H.E.M.E.S Development Agenda of the Governor of Lagos State.

According to him, He is proud that the Council Chairman of Iba LCDA, Hon.Yisa Abiola Jubril (ABILA) is focus on the Greater Lagos Vision, his prioritization of urban renewal and the development of road infrastructure as a means of enhancing the collective wellbeing of his Constituents is very prominent to him.

While, giving the goodwill message, Barr. Tunde Lawal, the Secretary of G-39 Leaders, Ojo Federal Constituency said, he is happy on the development recorded so far as more are expected of the administration, adopting an all-inclusive and people-centered approach that covers rural and urban areas, so that no part of Iba LCDA is left out, is a commendable act by the Local Government Leadership.
